I’ve been a part of the health and wellness industry for well over a decade but haven’t always been healthy and balanced. It is a misconception that when you are in the health and wellness industry that you’ve always been fit/healthy which is often not the case. My past involves disordered eating- binge eating, yo-yo dieting, food allergies, hormonal issues, acne, thyroid issues, anxiety and an overall unhealthy relationship with food and working out.
Finding holistic nutrition changed my life for the better and set me on a health seeking journey and I'm happy to say that today I am more balanced than I have ever been.
When it comes to nutrition, each person is unique and requires an individualistic approach. I believe in an 80/20% rule, 80% whole, nutrient dense food and 20% whatever you want. I find this approach to be sustainable long term and balanced. Being healthy is a lifestyle, not a diet that has no flexibility.
If you told me 5 years ago where I would be today I would have never believed you but here I am! Anything is possible if you set your mind to it and put in the work. Don't be afraid to ask for help when you are struggling, I wish I had done it sooner myself!
